ACTIVE 50's FITNESS Profile

ACTIVE 50's FITNESS is the culmination of a vision shared by Stewart and Nadine Hyde to accomodate a section of the population that has felt intimidated and dissuaded by 'traditional' fitness centres. Through our experience in the fitness industry, we have indentified the main issues that have restricted the over 50's from persuing better health through exercise. These include feeling intimidated by the 18-25 age group, lack of confidence in using the equipment, little or no follow-up support from the staff, high-pressure sales techniques, lack of social interaction and restrictive long-term contracts. Our focus is to structure our centre to address all these issues to give our members peace of mind when it comes to getting active. 

We all share a passionate belief in motivating and assisting the over 50's to get active and experience the many benefits a healthier lifestlye brings.

Our Mission Statement

To provide a safe, friendly and accommodating environment to encourage new friendships, maintain an improved level of emotional and physical wellbeing and promote an active lifestyle for the 50’s and beyond.

Our Core Beliefs

A Achievement     Working persistently towards the achievement of a more active lifestyle for our members.

C Confidence        Focusing on 'user-friendly' equipment plus constant support from staff to increase our members confidence in exercise.

T Total Body         Utilizing hydraulic equipment designed to combine cardio-vascular, strength and mobility training for a total body workout.

Inspiration         Providing motivation and education to assist our members improve their wellbeing (while reciprocally gaining inspiration FROM our members). 

V Variety              Implementing variety to our routines to maintain interest and avoid physical and mental staleness, enabling our members to make exercise 'habit'.

Energizing         Promoting a holistic approach to activity through the encouragement of new friendships, focusing on the fun factor, accomodating members concerns and reaping the benefits that an active lifestyle brings.
